We frequently hit up our local laid back go-to’s in Legian, the sophisticated beachfront of Seminyak and hipster hangouts in Canggu. Whether you are looking for an ice-cold Bintang or frozen mocktail or cocktails – these bars well and truly have you covered.
Azul Beach Club
Azul Beach Club is a modern day treehouse on the beachfront of Legian, Bali. Serving up a large selection of seafood cuisine, fresh takes on a tiki-style menu and tipsy tea that is perfect for a Sunday brunch. Whether the first or second floor is your style, the breezy views of the ocean and rooftop pool ready to take a dip will have you wanting to come back for more. We suggest trying their stuffed baby squid on the side of a ‘Vacation in a Glass’ cocktail – you won’t be sorry.
Life On the Juice
Whether you try them out for their smoothie bar by sunrise or frozen lychee daiquiri’s for sunset – this bright and friendly combi van that is a permanent Legian fixture will have your taste buds dancing. We especially love their laid back tunes, Balinese style umbrellas and bench seating to enjoy people watching from. Their menu ranges from IDR 25,000 to 110,000 with happy hour starting from 5pm daily.
Cocoon Beach Club
Promentately located on the corner of Double Six Street, Cocoon Beach Club boasts numerous spaces to enjoy a day poolside or in the cooling airconditioning of their Mediterranean style restaurant. Whilst you relax on your poolside daybed, their attentive staff can arrange lunch off their tapas style menu. Fusing the best of Asian and modern European flavours, Cocoon delivers with their superb service and freshly sourced produce.
La Plancha
Pull up a bean bag and sip on a sunset cocktail at this colourful Spanish fiesta on Seminyak’s beach called La Plancha. With the sand between your toes, we suggest ordering a bite to eat with your drinks from their simple, Spanish inspired menu – that way you can truly relax to the vibing music. We suggest bringing you swimmers if you are visiting here during the day as the ocean is so close, you will be tempted to take a dip.
KU DE TA
One of the original beach clubs of Bali with stunning ocean sunsets, a lengthy swimming pool, eclectic tunes and variety of dining options. Their menu is prepared using the finest of fresh, quality ingredients that have been locally sourced and made on site daily. Whether you are feeling peckish, wanting to dine al-a-carte, or settle in for relaxed fine dining – KU DE TA can cater to all. Their menu is moderately priced, however, it is reflective of their high-quality offering.
Mano Beach House
Located on Petitenget Beach in swanky Seminyak, Mano Beach House is the relaxed contemporary house you wish you had back home. Their menu is filled with sophisticated cocktails, fresh international cuisine, and healthy smoothies with exotic flavours. We suggest perching yourself here for the day to enjoy the ever-changing views, chilled tunes and slower paced life that is the epitome of Mano Beach House.
Potato Head Beach Club
An icon for its OG status amongst Bali’s beach clubs; featuring a towering four restaurants and bars, infinity pool, swim up bar and relaxing lawn area. Known for its free-flowing stream of events, art, culture, fashion and sustainability programmes – Potato Head is more than your run of the mill Bali beach club. If you don’t mind paying a little bit more and being surrounded by the happenings of Seminyak – Potato Head Beach Club is for you.
WooBar
Whilst you soak up the sun rays of Bali, and listen to the funky beats provided by WooBar, your day here will soon pass you by. This energising bar is versatile in its offering as it goes from relaxed by day to playful by nightfall. Known as a ‘see and be seen’ place in Seminyak – their reputation will get you through the door, however, it’s their poolside bites and Mixologists in action that will keep you staying around for more.
Finns Beach Club
More than just a beach club with a choice of 4 swimming pools, 9 bars (2 of which you can swim-up to), multiple restaurants, DJs and live vocalists daily as well as 170-metres of absolute oceanfront. Featuring a well-rounded menu or cocktails, juices, pizzas and more – Finns Beach Club is famous for being one of the first of its kind in Bali. We suggest coming for lunch and relaxing poolside until the sun sets to really enjoy the full experience that Finns has to offer.
Old Man’s
If you are looking for a grown-up’s playground by nightfall – this icon in Canggu is for you. By day this beachfront surf club style bar features a relaxed menu and stunning ocean views. By nightfall, this is a Canggu’s hipsters hang out, with live DJ’s, a party scene and interactive epic drinking games with a good mix of locals, expats, and tourists.
The Lawn Canggu
Listen to the soundtrack of Canggu’s waves roll in as you recline poolside for a do not disturb day of relaxing lounging. With their smooth beats, modern dining menu and clever mix of internationally flavoured cocktails – one would say you cannot go wrong. We recommend The Lawn Canggu for those looking for a cheeky cocktail, casual lunch or intimate dinner in a relaxed setting overlooking the ocean. If you are going to The Lawn, try their seared salmon and roasted pumpkin with crumbled feta, mint and crushed almonds.
COMO Beach Club Bali
COMO Beach Club is located on the Echo Beach end of Canggu’s beach strip, offering a distinctively modern take on the traditional surf shack. This refined and laid-back design boasts restaurant-style seating, poolside loungers and swinging day beds – setting itself apart from the other bustling beachside venues in Canggu. If you are travelling with youngsters, they can be entertained by Play by COMO’s many activities.

Echo Beach Club
A popular hangout for afternoon sunset drinks thanks to its outdoor beer garden feel overlooking the waves of Echo Beach. Echo Beach Club is known for its legendary barbeque that serves a large array of fresh seafood, ribs, salads and sides. This beautiful seaside space is great for a morning brunch through to happy hour drinks that last from 4pm – 7pm.
La Brisa
A beachside jungle treehouse, complete with two swimming pools, endless views of the Canggu surf scene and tropical tasting cocktails that will knock anyone’s socks off. They have multiple seating options from bean bags, lounges, tables and below deck cabana style seating as well as an extensive menu that will suit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We have been working our way through La Brisa’s reasonably priced menu and can’t fault anything yet, we personally recommend trying their Fish Taco Bowl with blackened mahi-mahi, mango pico de gallo, guacamole, quinoa and cabbage slaw – it’s a 10/10 on price, quality and flavour.
