Seminyak is the home of a handful of classy beach clubs, perfect for lounging, sunset watching and late night cocktails. Here you have Seminyak’s top four beach clubs.

1. Ku De Ta

Ku De Ta Seminyak Beach Club

Ku De Ta is the mother of Bali beach clubs. The club opened back in 2000 when Seminyak wasn’t much more than a fishing village. A lot of martinis and daiquiris have crossed the bar since then, but Ku De Ta still manages to maintain its image as one of the island’s premier hotspots for lounging at the beach.

Ku De Ta has a range of dining options from small snacks to go with your cocktail to full scale dining with a 12-course tasting menu with matching wines.

Music is taken seriously at Ku De Ta and the resident DJs are brilliant. They even have their own radio station and regularly release compilations so you can take the sounds of Bali home.

Especially in high season, look out for some of the reoccurring parties – like the annual Bikini Day and the legendary White Party.

2. Mozaic Beach Club

Mozaic Beach Club

The Mozaic restaurant in Ubud is probably Bali’s most appraised restaurant and, in 2012, they extended their domain with a Beach club in Seminyak. Located in Batubelig, in the quieter northern part of Seminyak, you might doubt that you are on track as you drive down the dirt road that leads to Mozaic, but once you are there you won’t doubt that you have found one of Seminyak’s finest beach clubs.

If you are a foodie, Mozaic Beach Club should be top of your list for a beachside dinner. On the menu you will find exclusive options like oyster, lobster and Wagyu beef, caviar and truffles and the chefs at Mozaic know how to get the best out of the delicate flavours. Not up for fancy dining? Slip into the soft cushions in the poolside lounge where you can enjoy a light meal or drink accompanied by DJ music and ocean view.

3. Potato Head Beach Club

Potato Head Beach Club

Situated down a long driveway from Jalan Petitenget, Potato Head is one of Seminyak’s best locations.

One of the first things you notice as you get closer is the unique, elliptical façade made up by thousands of multi-coloured shutters. Once inside, it is the ocean view that impresses.  A large infinity pool right on the edge of the beach is surrounded by a deck with lounge chairs. Further back, you find a large, manicured lawn and the bar and the restaurant area with three different restaurants where you have the choice between Asian inspired tapas, bistro style dishes and gourmet dining.

During the day, the atmosphere is relaxed and leisurely, but as evening turns to night, on weekends and in the high season, the music gets louder and the place gets livelier.

4. Woo Bar

Woo Bar Bali

Woo Bar is located inside the chic W-retreat. This al-fresco beach bar is pretty much everything you would expect from a modern beach bar. A large pool with bean bag and sun chairs surrounded by palm trees a lounge area for cocktail sipping and tapas tasting, a roof top deck overlooking it all and, of course, a beautiful ocean view.  For something a little different than just classic cocktails and snacks, you can share a shisah pipe with fruit flavoured tobacco.

Almost weekly, Woo Bar hosts sunset sessions (4 – 10 pm) where international DJs create the soundtrack to the spectacular sight of the sun setting over Seminyak Beach.  On weekend nights, other DJs usually take over at 10 pm continuing the fun until 4 am. Have a look at Woo-bar’s Facebook page for details about sunset sessions and other events.
